Anomaly Interview | Mignon Fogarty

Hi, I’m Sue.  I have actually uttered the phrase, “Oh good! I remembered to pack my brain slug.” And I am an anomaly. In late August, at the World Science Fiction Convention, I was able to grab a few minutes to talk to Mignon Fogarty. Mignon is an author and the host of the world famous podcast Grammar Girl: Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing, consistently ranked in the top 20 education podcasts on iTunes, and the founder of the Quick and Dirty Tips podcast network, with subjects ranging from parenting to law to public speaking. She has degrees in English and Biology and was a magazine and technical writer before starting the Grammar Girl podcast.

We found the quietest spot in the convention center (I promise) and sat down for a chat – please forgive us for the catering carts and ambient noise.  We talked about her podcast and books, grammar pet peeves, and women in science fiction and fantasy literature, both as characters and authors.

You can (and should) follow Mignon on Twitter and subscribe to her podcast.  And, you can read some excerpts and buy all of her books here:

They did in 2007 with a little help from their friends and have never looked back. :)
