Anomaly Supplemental

Anomaly Supplemental, with Kasey and Sue

Anomaly Supplemental is a true testament to the power of the internet.  Only Kasey actually knew Jen and Angela before the genesis of the Anomaly community.  She and Sue, a podcast listener, were asked to contribute to the Anomalous Musings blog beginning in August of 2009.  As the community continued to grow, Anne, another listener, joined the blog staff and Sarah took on the roll of Anomalous Correspondent in September 2010.  Of these four women, only Anne and Sue have been in the same room together, and only once (so far) after both joining the staff.

Honored that Jen and Angela would share their creation, these ladies work to spread the word about Anomaly and expand the community, and heard that fans of the podcast wanted more.  But, as Jen says, “podcasting is hard work.”  An idea started forming to bring podcast subscribers more Anomaly without adding to the workload for the founding hosts.

Eventually, the idea took shape as Anomaly Supplemental – a weekly podcast in the Anomaly feed (and on a staggered release schedule).  Episodes may be hosted by any permutation of the Anomaly staff, including the founding hosts, from a solo show to a 6 (or more) person round-table, and focus on topics that may not be covered by the mother podcast.

Anomaly Supplemental | The Chocolate Factory Debate

Donate iTunes Stitcher Player FM Podcast RSS For July, the Anomaly Supplemental are entering a "world of pure imagination"... A few months ago, Sue and KC asked listeners to vote on their next topic and the winner was 1971's "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate" starring Gene Wilder versus 2005's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" starring Johnny Depp. For the sake of title length, we have called this episode The Chocolate Factory Debate, but as Sue mentions at the beginning, this discussion may not [...]

Anomaly Interview | Dragon Con’s American Sci-Fi Classics Track Directors

This past Sunday, I sat down at the virtual table with Joe Crowe and Gary Mitchel, the co-directors of the American Sci-Fi Classics Track at Dragon Con.  We talk about their history with Dragon Con, how they wound up track directors, guest and fan panels coming up this year, and share some stories about Dragon Cons past.  Also, Joe and Gary confirm one of my panels, discuss a right of passage for this track, and identify what is possibly the greatest sci-fi show to have ever graced the television screen. [...]

The Hosts’ Picks: Kasey’s Top 5 Anomaly Episodes

Like Sue, Kasey  had trouble choosing her favorite five Anomaly episodes. There are some overlaps between their lists, but Kasey says she doesn't care. She's is too  pleased with them. That probably means these episodes are worth a listen/relisten. Again, I asked our hosts to choose a show that they were in. I thought it might help narrow things down a bit. Kasey has chosen four Anomaly Supplemental episodes and one Anomaly episode. A link to the episode and the show notes will be included in each of our lists. I'll [...]

Your Moment of Who: Doctor Who, Series 7, Eps 11-13

It's the series finale of Doctor Who and Your Moment of Who!  If you've been listening, you know that KC and I haven't been too thrilled with the season to this point.  But all of that's changed with these last three episodes!  So, if you're sick of hearing us whine, you're in luck! No you get to hear us gush... But first thing's first - we respond to some feed back from regular emailer Andrew, and discuss some more opinions about the first few episodes with Clara and her story [...]
